DETAILS of the SOLIDARITY CYCLE events FOR 2024
friendship rides
- We are expanding the number of rides in Solidarity Cycle to include 4 Friendship Rides in August.
- These are lower intensity rides of shorter duration 20km - 30km.
- Participation in the Friendship Rides is limited to 25 cyclists per ride
- Participants in the Friendship Rides will register on the Solidarity Cycle webpage and ask for friends and family to sponsor them just like the people riding 50/100km on September 8.
- How many Friendship Rides you join is up to you. It represents YOUR personal challenge - for some that would mean getting on a bike ONCE, others may want to do 25 x 4 rides to equal 100km. Either act could be impressive for YOU!
- you may participate in the Friendship Rides as well as Solidarity Cycle as you choose.
- We hope the Friendship Rides will bring out more cyclists who may be daunted by the 50 or 100 km distance or training schedule but would still like to support African grandmothers
- Register for the ride first and we will send you contact information for the ride leaders.
50 or 100 km loops on September 8
- Close to the city, and yet on quiet, scenic roads in the Pitt Meadows area this ride is divided into 4 x 25 km segments with stops for water, bathroom and refreshments at each stop.
- 13479 Sharpe Road, Pitt Meadows is the starting point, lunch break location, and finale stop. Imagine a figure 8 with morning and afternoon loops going out from Sharpe Road.
